Flagship Initiative

Building coffee farms and farmer livelihoods in Eastern Uganda.

ARISE is ACZON Farms' flagship coffee development initiative. It brings together coffee establishment, farmer training, agronomic support, and traceability development to build a sustainable value chain from the ground up.

The initial focus is in Serere District and the surrounding parts of the Teso sub-region — working directly with smallholder farmers to establish productive, well-managed coffee farms and build the skills needed for long-term success.

Project Pillars

What ARISE delivers in the field.

ARISE is a comprehensive approach — not a single intervention. Each pillar supports the long-term productivity and sustainability of partner farms.

Coffee Establishment

Supporting farmers in planning, preparing land, and establishing coffee farms with appropriate planting material.

Farmer Training

Hands-on agronomic training delivered through repeated field visits and practical demonstrations.

Planting Material Support

Helping farmers access appropriate Robusta planting material suited to Eastern Uganda conditions.

Soil Fertility Management

Guiding farmers on soil health practices that sustain long-term productivity.

Pest & Disease Support

Training on early identification and management of common coffee pests and diseases.

Traceability

Farm mapping and farmer identification for plot-level traceability from farm to market.

Our Approach

From establishment to market linkage.

ARISE follows a structured pathway — starting with coffee establishment and farmer training, building toward aggregation and eventual market linkage that connects partner farms to responsible buyers.

  1. Coffee Establishment — Land preparation, planting, and shade management.
  2. Farmer Training — Repeated field visits and hands-on agronomic support.
  3. Ongoing Support — Soil fertility, pest and disease management, and farm management guidance.
  4. Traceability — Farm mapping, farmer identification, and plot-level data.
  5. Aggregation — Building toward collective aggregation of coffee from partner farms.
  6. Market Linkage — Connecting traceable Ugandan coffee to responsible international markets.

Long-Term Goals

What ARISE aims to achieve.

ARISE is designed to create lasting impact — not just in coffee production, but in the livelihoods and resilience of farming households.

Improved Household Income

Building coffee as a reliable, long-term income source for farming families.

Increased Farm Productivity

Supporting farmers to establish and manage productive, sustainable coffee farms.

Strengthened Community Resilience

Investing in skills and relationships that benefit entire communities.

Traceable, Responsible Coffee

Building traceability systems that connect Ugandan coffee to responsible markets.

Outcomes are aspirational goals. Verified results will be reported as the project progresses and data becomes available.
