Ugandan Coffee

Uganda is one of Africa's leading coffee producers.

Coffee is one of Uganda's most important agricultural exports, and the country has a long history of producing both Robusta and Arabica coffee. Eastern Uganda offers strong potential for Robusta development.

ACZON Farms is working to develop coffee production in this region — supporting smallholder farmers to establish productive, well-managed farms that can contribute to Uganda's growing coffee sector.

Eastern Uganda Coffee Development

Robusta coffee as a major focus.

Eastern Uganda — and particularly the Teso sub-region — has conditions suitable for Robusta coffee. This is a major focus of our work.

Robusta coffee is well-adapted to the climate and elevation of the region, making it a strong choice for smallholder farmers looking to diversify their income and build long-term agricultural productivity.

We are working to develop coffee farms that are productive, sustainable, and traceable — connecting Eastern Ugandan Robusta to responsible markets.

Farmer Quality Practices

Coffee worth sourcing starts in the field.

Quality coffee is built from the ground up — through proper establishment, good agronomic practices, and consistent farm management.

Proper Establishment

Careful planning of spacing, shade, and planting material for productive farms.

Soil & Nutrient Management

Practices that maintain soil fertility and support healthy plant growth.

Pest & Disease Control

Early identification and appropriate management of coffee pests and diseases.

Shade Management

Integrating shade trees to protect coffee plants and support biodiversity.

Aggregation & Market Linkage

Building the path from farm to market.

Our goal is to build a complete value chain — from individual smallholder farms through aggregation and eventual market linkage to responsible international buyers.

Farm-Level Production

Supporting individual smallholder farmers to establish and manage productive coffee farms.

Aggregation

Building toward collective aggregation of coffee from partner farms for market readiness.

Market Linkage

Connecting traceable Eastern Uganda Robusta to responsible international coffee markets.

Quality, Traceability & Responsible Sourcing

Our ambitions for Ugandan coffee.

We are building toward a coffee value chain that is traceable, responsibly produced, and ready to meet international market expectations.

Traceability

Developing farm mapping and farmer identification systems for plot-level traceability.

Responsible Sourcing

Preparing for the expectations of international coffee buyers and sustainability partners.

We do not claim certifications, export volumes, or compliance statuses that have not yet been verified. These are ambitions we are building toward.
